Changing plan takes the new plan’s list price. Staying put keeps yours, whatever the list does. A spouse or partner is covered by your plan on every tier.
Which plan
The plan follows from how you are taxed, not from a feature list.
| You are | Plan | What that gets you |
|---|---|---|
| A job, no business | Personal | One set of books. Net worth, budget, recurring, a spouse. |
| A job and a side business on a Schedule C | Solo | Wages fill the brackets first; the business rides on top with its own worksheet and quarters. |
| Full-time freelance, sole proprietorship | Solo | The estimate, the four payments, the reserve, mileage, receipts, 1099s, the package. |
| A single-member LLC taxed as a sole proprietorship | Solo | The wrapper is an LLC; the treatment is Schedule C. Solo covers it. |
| An LLC that elected S-corp treatment | Owner | Wages recorded, the owner share, basis, reasonable compensation described. |
| A partnership or multi-member LLC | Owner | Ownership share, guaranteed payments, SE by participation, the K-1 position. |
| More than one business | Owner | Each entity keeps its own books and its own return. |
| A rental beside any of the above | Same as above | Rentals are Schedule E; they do not change the plan. |

FAQ
Common questions
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new account has the whole product for seven days with no card. When the week ends your books stay readable and exportable, and changing them takes a plan. Nothing is deleted.
Can I use Contha if I don't have a registered business?
Yes. Personal is one set of books on its own: no business, no LLC, no EIN required. Solo is there if and when a business appears beside it.
Do you support multiple income sources?
Yes. Connect every account you have — a day job, freelance clients, a side business — and every transaction lands in one categorized view, no matter how many sources feed it.
Is my data secure?
Yes. The token that reads your bank is encrypted with its own key, so a leaked database is not a leaked connection. Every table enforces access in Postgres rather than in the interface. We do not sell anything to anyone.
Can my spouse or partner use it?
Yes. Invite their email under Settings and they sign in with it: their own login, their own layout, the same books. One plan covers the household. You choose whether they can edit or only look.
Which plan do I need if I have an LLC?
It depends on how the LLC is taxed, not on the wrapper. A single-member LLC taxed as a sole proprietorship is Solo. An LLC that elected S-corp treatment, a multi-member LLC taxed as a partnership, or more than one entity, is Owner.
Can I change plans later?
Yes. Upgrade or downgrade anytime from your account settings; the change takes effect on your next billing cycle, and nothing you have already entered is lost either way.
Do you sell my data?
No. We never sell your data, to anyone, for any reason.
